Dutton Great Room Peterson Style Art Lamp
This Mission Arts and Crafts style table lamp is a replica of a lamp done by the Peterson Furniture Company of Faribault Minnesota around the 1920's. Although the original company has long been out of business its been recreated here and is in limited production. Lamp made of hand selected solid quarter sawn white oak and uses Coffee and Mustard color art glass in the shade.
The Coffee and Mustard color art glass in the shade was created in the USA by the Youghiogheny Art glass company near Pittsburg Pa. The style of glass was called ring-mottled glass and it was first made by the Tiffany Company of New York. Hand made at our woodworking studio here in Michigan.
We use hand selected quarter sawn white oak and finish it with a fine Danish Oil. Our stain recipe was handed down by Dutch Craftsman of Grand Rapids. Dusting the lamp shades can be accomplished with a feather duster or a vacuum cleaners brush attachment. We often recommend the new LED bulbs that are reproductions of antique Edison bulbs. use the LED bulbs with the warm glow at a wavelength of around 2200K.
