The lamp was designed in the Grand Rapids tradition of fine master craftsmanship. It uses 4 standard Edison bulbs and stands 60” tall and 21.5”L x 21.5”D at the shade. The mica shade lenses are a copper color blending in nicely with the Danish oil finish. The grain patterns of quarter sawn are often taken from the same board match seamlessly. The result is a beautiful lamp that is as much of a work of art as a utilitarian device.
We use hand selected quarter sawn white oak and finish it with a fine Danish Oil. Our stain recipe was handed down by Dutch Craftsman of Grand Rapids. Dusting the lamp shades can be accomplished with a feather duster or a vacuum cleaners brush attachment. We often recommend the new LED bulbs that are reproductions of antique Edison bulbs. use the LED bulbs with the warm glow at a wavelength of around 2200K.
